We are located between exits 242 and 244 on the west side of I-17 in Black Canyon City, AZ. We are only about a mile from either exit. We are far enough from I-17 that we don't hear traffic from the highway, but close enough that jaunts to Phoenix or Flagstaff are a breeze.
The Resort is owned and operated by semi-retired "Stan". When Stan isn't roaming around the park seeing to resident's needs members of his family or long-time residents are on duty, as well as a full-time maintenance staff. Together they run a clean and quiet setting with beautiful mountain views to the east and west for short term and long term residents. The Bradshaw Range of mountains is almost on the doorsteps of residents on the west side of the resort. Sunrises and sunsets over the mountains here are spectacular!
Highlights of the resort are: beautiful landscaping with a country desert theme, an outdoor spa and pool that is temperature controlled year round, a large patio complete with a large capacity gas grill for the use of all residents (and plenty of outdoor seating), a non-smoking clubhouse which includes a lounge and television, a free pool table, coffee in the mornings, card tables, magazines and books, and private showers and a laundry. For larger gatherings, we have an additional room that we use for our potluck dinners and occassional parties. This room is available for short-term and long-term resident groups to use for their own gatherings.
During fall and winter months all residents are invited to attend our occassional potluck dinners, with the resort furnishing a portion of some meals and residents generally providing side dishes (and sometimes entertainment!). Musical entertainment is sometimes provided for our holiday gatherings.
The resort features pull-thru sites and back-in sites and many sites include concrete pads and picnic tables. All sites have electrical and cable TV service and waste hookups. Phone service is available at most sites for residents that wish to have phone service (available thru Qwest).
Cable TV is free and always included in the price of lot rentals. Long term residents pay their electric bills based on individual meters. Water and sewer and trash pick-up are free and included in the price of lot rental.
Available now.. FREE WI FI access to the Internet. All residents are free to access the service once they obtain a username and password from the office staff. Omni-directional antennas are mounted around the park to serve all corners of the Resort. This will allow you to use your laptop or desktop PC to access the Internet (provided you have a working wireless adaptor attached to your unit) from within your own living quarters (for disclaimer click here.). At this time, our transmitted signal is more reliable inside our Clubhouse than in other parts of the Resort, but we are always improving the service and most residents are finding a good usable signal from their own site.
Black Canyon City is a small community all to itself. It offers a grocery and two locally owned mini-marts, two gas stations, a couple of auto repair and RV repair shops, a hardware store, 6 or 7 restaurants, several churches, a library, a post office, a volunteer fire and rescue/EMT departmet, a bank, a small medical center, several dollar stores, a discount furniture store, a community building and a park that features desert hiking trails. Most businesses in town close down between 8:00pm and 9:00pm daily, which lends to the quiet setting we enjoy.
Nearby are many places to hike or run the mountain and desert trails by quad or horse-back or jeep. Lake Pleasant is not much more than a half hour drive from the resort. Within walking distance of the resort are many beautiful trails for hiking.
Twelve miles to our south, the community of Anthem grows daily and now offers a large Safeway store, a Walmart Supercenter, a Hampton Inn, Dennys, Del Taco, McDonalds, Starbucks, Osco Drugs, Walgreens, Ace Hardware and many other restaurants, stores and services too numerous to mention. Anthem is an upscale community in the desert that is growing in leaps and bounds. New services open in Anthem on a monthly basis.
Camp Verde is the next large community to our north by 40 miles. There the temperatures are much cooler than here in summer and winter, and if you take the crazy notion to see snow during winter you can often find it within an hour or two's drive. The pine forests around Pine and Strawberry are within an hour and a half's drive to our north, as well as the red rock areas around Sedona and the famous little town of Jerome. The Grand Canyon is only about a 3 hour drive to our north. Desert scenery off the beaten path, little ghost towns, inoperative gold mines and so forth are always close at hand for those that like to go exploring. And of course Phoenix is only 40 miles to our south, for those that enjoy occassional visits to the big city.
Weather and temperatures here in Black Canyon City are usually very close to the conditions reported for Phoenix even though we are located in a large canyon surrounded by mountains.
With this message to you, we hope we've painted an accurate picture of our accommodations and setting. We know you will enjoy the quiet easy living that our residents enjoy year after year.
Stop in and see us. We will be glad to show you around and help you become acquainted with the area. We think you will see why we believe we offer the most comfortable and reasonably priced resort for RV'ers in the state of Arizona.

Join us in the clubhouse on Monday and Wednesday evenings for cards and dominoes and pool tournaments. And be sure to watch the bulletin board in the clubhouse for information about potluck dinners coming up. Sometimes we decide to do a potluck dinner on a weekend for no reason other than WE CAN!.
