· · · Our Friendly Resort · · ·

Only a mile from either exit 242 or 244 off I-17, 40 miles north of Phoenix, Black Canyon City is a quaint Arizona mining town. Far enough from the highway to render the 18-wheelers inaudible but close enough to make trips to Phoenix or Flagstaff a breeze.

The Resort is owned and operated by Stan and his family. You'll usually find Stan, Jerry, or Cynidi in the office.  They run a clean and quiet resort with beautiful mountain views to the east and west.

In addition to the family a full-time maintenance staff keeps the park well manicured and smoothly running.

· · · Our Surroundings · · ·

The impressive Bradshaw Mountains, home of a gold rush in the 1870s (more history), hedge the valley on both sides.  The back of our property abuts the Western Bradshaws and the Eastern Bradshaws are on the other side of the valley.  The resort has beautiful desert-themed landscaping.

Sunsets, sunrises, and even moonrises can be spectacular.  And of course the stars appear by the millions at night.  Bring your binoculars and camera!

Highlights of the resort include: outdoor spa and pool that are temperature controlled year round, large patio complete with a large gas grill, clubhouse including lounge and television, free pool and shuffleboard tables, card tables, private showers and laundry.

For larger gatherings, we have an additional room that we use for our potluck dinners and occassional parties. This room is available for short-term and long-term resident groups to use for their own gatherings.

And please help yourself to our free morning coffee!

· · · Activities · · ·

During the fall and winter months all residents are invited to attend our occassional potluck dinners; the resort furnishes the main meal and residents provide side dishes and sometimes entertainment.

Residents organize their own card games --- including poker --- and other  crafts and hobbies.

· · · Our Site Features · · ·

Most sites include concrete pads and picnic tables and some are pull-thru. All sites have 50 amp electrical, water, sewer and cable TV.   Phone and private Internet via DSL is available at most sites for residents who wish to arrange private service through Qwest Communications.

Wireless Internet (Wi-Fi) will allow you to access the Internet from our clubhouse and from many of our sites at no additional charge.  For signal limitations and privacy disclaimers see our Wi-Fi Page.

At this time, our wireless signal is more reliable inside
our Clubhouse than in other parts of the Resort.

Nearby Cities and Sites

Black Canyon City · · ·

Black Canyon City is a small, self-sufficient, community. It offers two mini-marts, two gas stations, hardware store, 4+ restaurants, several churches, library, post office, fire and rescue, bank, a small medical center, dollar stores, a discount furniture store, and a community building.  Most businesses in town close between 8:00pm and 9:00pm daily creating a quiet setting we enjoy.

Nearby are many places to hike or run or ride (horseback, quad, or 4-wheeling) including a local park that features desert hiking trails and a view of our city. Lake Pleasant, with 10,000 acres of water, 50 miles of shoreline and a major resort, is just 30 miles (35 minutes) away off of AZ-74.  From there it's a short jump to historic Wikenburg, and don't miss the thrilling ride up AZ-89 from there to Prescott.  Bring your camera but not a fear of heights.

For Black Canyon City businesses and area photographs visit our Chamber of Commerce.

· · · Anthem · · ·

Fourteen miles to our south the community of Anthem offers two large supermarkets, Walmart Supercenter, outlet mall (pickup a mall map in our office) Hampton Inn, Dennys, Del Taco, McDonalds, Starbucks, Osco Drugs, Walgreens, Ace Hardware and other restaurants, stores and services too numerous to mention.

Anthem is an upscale community in the desert that is growing in leaps and bounds. New services open in Anthem on a monthly basis.

· · · Camp Verde · · ·

40 miles north is Camp Verde.  You'll find cooler temperatures there and if you take the crazy notion to see snow during winter you can often find it within an hour or two's drive. The pine forests around Pine and Strawberry are within an hour and a half's drive to our north, as well as the red rock areas around Sedona and the famous little town of Jerome.

· · · The Grand Canyon · · ·

Only 3 hours to the north is the Grand Canyon, desert scenery off the beaten path, little ghost towns, old gold mines and more for those that like to go exploring.  Don't miss our state's proudest feature!

· · · And, of course, Phoenix · · ·

Phoenix, second in size only to Los Angeles in the Western US is 25 miles to our south.  Don't miss our State Fair in late October and early November.
